Blog Post#1

20% Time is a program that was created by Google, allowing their employees to work on a subject that they are passionate about. It gives them the freedom to pursue something that they may not have had time to work on. In our class we are replicating the same idea. We are asked how we will enhance our world.

I plan to do so by creating a documentary that is focused on discrimination and injustice of ordinary people. People who are autistic or people who have ALS, those who are LGBT or anyone who is bullied. I chose this because it is a problem that needs to be fixed, also because I have first hand experience with this subject.

My goals are to interview everyday people that are discriminated, people in my family and close friends. I ultimately just want to bring awareness and show true experiences.

  1. I think that this is a good idea. It definitely is not fair for people with autism, ALS or any other problem to be discriminated against. Hopefully this video can help show people and let them become more aware about this topic. My questions to you is will you be interviewing just family members, or will you interview other people as well?
